We don't laugh because we're happy – we're happy because we laugh.
Come and discover what a Laughter Yoga and Gratitude session is all about.
Laughter yoga and gratitude sessions provide a safe space to get out of your comfort zone.
A space to reconnect with your inner child, this fearless, curious, rebellious, full of wonders and life, carefree, confident, vibrant, playful, assertive, wild, enthusiastic, creative little being inside every single one of us (unless you were born an adult) who is just waiting to be awakened and play. By connecting to your inner child, you allow yourself to release and let go of some pretty heavy adult stuff such as fear, pent up emotions, stress, lack of confidence…
Come and expect some fun, games, playfulness, improvisation, movement, gibberish, connection, meditation and lots of Laughter while getting some feel good hormones such as endorphins, dopamine and oxytocin, reducing stress, increasing confidence, creativity, motivation, concentration and boosting the immune system.
Our aim is to provide a safe space for people to connect to themselves as well as others. We thrive to create and develop a sense of community amongst people of all ages where they can get support, feel free to share and learn from each other. There will be an opportunity for the participants to stay and socialise after the session either at the venue or at a café nearby.
WHAT TO BRING?
An open mind ;-) Please also wear comfortable clothing, bring a yoga mat, throw, blanket or anything you feel comfortable lying down on, even your coat could do and finally a bottle of water.
Laughter Yoga is not a substitute for medical consultation for physical, mental and psychological illnesses, but is a powerful natural complementary form of healing. It is like any other aerobic exercise and may not be suitable for everyone as it involves some physical strain and a rise in intra-abdominal pressure.
Some people may have pre- existing medical conditions and one should take reasonable precaution before doing laughter exercises or indeed any form of exercise.
It is contraindicated for people suffering from: Any kind of hernia, Heart disease with angina pain, Persistent cough with breathlessness, Uncontrolled high blood pressure, Incontinence of urine, Epilepsy, Advanced (bleeding) piles and haemorrhoids or any bleeding tendencies in any part of the body, Severe backache, Any acute symptoms of cough, cold and fever. People who have undergone major surgery should wait at least three months before doing Laughter Yoga.
If in doubt first consult a medical professional for guidance. Anyone undergoing physician-prescribed therapy that experiences improvements through laughter should seek the advice of their doctor before reducing dosage or stopping treatment.
